Mission:  The BLM sustains the health, diversity and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Montrose District administers 2 million acres of public lands in southwestern Colorado. 
Expertise:  Wildlife habitat management, fishery habitat management, outdoor recreation, wilderness management, ecology, rangeland management, geology, mining, oil and gas development, hydrology, geographic information systems, wildland fire fighting.
